In Honor of my lovely friend Marisa and fellow bride to be Krista, we ventured up to Canada to have an epic double bachelorette weekend! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Howe Sound on the drive up</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<br />
The Drive up to Whistler was beautiful. From Bellingham we made the quick cross over the boarder to Canada. The drive to Whistler is simply majestic. We had the sunroof down and were enjoying the PNW and all it had to offer. The drive in the spring is so much different than the drive in the winter. Waterfalls galore and the flora and fauna are out for all to see. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Whistler still has a sparkle from the 2010 Olympics, the ski village has great restaurants and shops. We enjoyed dancing the night away at Moe Joes the first night. Day two rolled around and we had one thing on our minds: ADVENTURE!<br />
<br />
So we signed up for Zip lining!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c8Xlno_yr40/V3Qh2Hn_MuI/AAAAAAAADZ4/_qHQ4Hfa4LQZj_XAIu2XVo_jXKKfdt7ogCLcB/s1600/WhistlerCollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="100" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-c8Xlno_yr40/V3Qh2Hn_MuI/AAAAAAAADZ4/_qHQ4Hfa4LQZj_XAIu2XVo_jXKKfdt7ogCLcB/s400/WhistlerCollage.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We had a blast! We learned that when in Canada, you drink Ceasers not Bloody Mary's.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That chatting all afternoon at the Longhorn Saloon Patio near the fire can bring some of the best memories of the trip. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And we are ready to send these lovely ladies off into married life.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
PS- not to each other... as we had to explain a few too many times while in whistler...</div>

Zane and Janae got married in Huntington Beach, California! It was a whirlwind of a weekend and no matter how hard Chad and I tried we were not able to get to San Fransisco.., Let alone Huntington Beach. Long story short we had our flight cancelled Thursday night out of Pasco. Let's just say that the ordeal that happened next is why I will never fly United again. Let's just say 2 canceled flights, showing up to check in before being cancelled on. With no flights left before the wedding, let alone the rehearsal dinner. It was so hard to call the bride and groom and tell them we couldn't make it.</div>
<br />
But back to the lighter side of life, the reception here in Washington was adorable.<br />
We can't wait to meet Baby Noah!<br />

My husband treated me to a night out at <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/budds-broiler-richland" target="_blank">Budd's Broiler</a> in Richland. We wined and Dined all while watching the boats and wildlife on the Columbia River. I had the Halibut, which was delicious and severed with a lovely lemon sauce. Chad had the ribeye with a side of mac and cheese. We love the Northwest flare to this steak house. All that goodness paired with <a href="https://www.woodwardcanyon.com/" target="_blank">Woodward Canyon </a>2011 Old Vines Cabernet Sauvignon. Read about this Washington Classic <a href="http://www.greatnorthwestwine.com/2016/01/21/how-woodward-canyon-winery-old-vines-cab-became-a-classic/" target="_blank">here</a>. This wine is about half from Champoux Vineyard up in the Horse Heaven Hills and half from a vineyard I am lucky enough to manage, Bacchus vineyard. Both sides were planted in the early '70s and the wine was just beautiful. Just beautiful. </div>

My husband and I had the best vacation this past winter on the island of Kauai and I wanted to share it with you. My husband and I have done what I will call the "resort experience" of Hawaii, spending time on Maui for our honeymoon. Let's be real, a week at the Grand Wailea was fabulous but we couldn't really afford to do that again.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Cue <a href="https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2098394" target="_blank">AirBnB</a> and a late night surfing dream vacation spots on Kauai. Chad and I had banked quite a few Alaska Airlines miles when paying for our wedding and going about daily life. We don't use credit as a loan but instead pay it off monthly to get some rewards. I was day dreaming about 7 days away while our budget was telling us we could afford 3 nights at the Marriott. Then I found the Epic Dome. And the dome lived up to its name!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A1M_kIOypTY/V1Cq4gZiEAI/AAAAAAAADXU/kFedjTtINF0CH2xX6c2AwbVXN9TOPBaPACLcB/s1600/IMG_2001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A1M_kIOypTY/V1Cq4gZiEAI/AAAAAAAADXU/kFedjTtINF0CH2xX6c2AwbVXN9TOPBaPACLcB/s320/IMG_2001.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">View from the top!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The Epic Dome was easy to find after our plane ride from Seattle. There was some traffic leaving the airport but with one road around the island that is to be expected. The dome had a lovely outdoor kitchen and very private outdoor bathroom. I loved feeling like I was taking a shower in the jungle.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; text-align: left;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Poke Filled massive avocado </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The dome allowed us to unplug a bit while still having all amenities. It was such a great launching point for adventures. Being up on the hill we would look around the skyline, find some sunshine and go that way for our daily adventure. We explored Limahuli Garden, Hanalei Bay, and had delicious sashimi at the <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-dolphin-hanalei" target="_blank">Dolphin</a>. Tip for the Dolphin- skip the restaurant and go around back to the little store, buy some poke and head to the beach. I have never had better Ahi!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Zq17kcPwZw/V1Co9JekK4I/AAAAAAAADW0/K8fM7ZB9SQ4LT_7COTQREeFMiMRKk8m7gCLcB/s1600/IMG_1621.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Zq17kcPwZw/V1Co9JekK4I/AAAAAAAADW0/K8fM7ZB9SQ4LT_7COTQREeFMiMRKk8m7gCLcB/s320/IMG_1621.JPG" width="240" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
We spent a day doing some fun tourist trap type adventures, boating out to the fern wedding grotto and hiking up sleeping giant. We had fun walking down into Kapaa from the Epic Dome enjoying an espresso at Small Town Coffee in Kapaa (Thanks <a href="http://www.sunset.com/travel/hawaii-mexico/beginners-guide-to-kauai-hawaii/page3" target="_blank">Sunset Magazine</a> for the tip!) , and drinks at The Olympic Cafe to enjoy looking down over the town. Skip the food though, there are much better (and more cost effective) places to dine. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The hosts were great and I would recommend enjoying Kauai with the Epic Dome as a base point for anyone looking for an adventure!</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We are headed to Portland later this summer, anyone have any killer AirBnB places we need to stay at??? Full us in!</div>

OK OK I am going to start this off by admitting I am partial to Januik wines.<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4Q4aM5Qf-78/Vz-AYyej5VI/AAAAAAAADTU/TK9ntrmpI04PZ5JeleBHqhkKvMIBrrEXQCLcB/s1600/IMG_2264.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4Q4aM5Qf-78/Vz-AYyej5VI/AAAAAAAADTU/TK9ntrmpI04PZ5JeleBHqhkKvMIBrrEXQCLcB/s320/IMG_2264.JPG" width="256" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Januik Winery Weinbau Vineyard Cabernet Franc</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Not only because I work with the vines that become his wines. Not just because I know Mike Januik ran Chateau Ste Michelle Wine Estates before embarking on his own project. not because I know Miguel Rodriguez, whom I work with at <a href="http://www.sagemoorvineyards.com/" target="_blank">Weinbau</a>, gives all he has got to these grapes. All of these are great reasons but let me tell you the truth. These wines speak for themselves. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Visit the <a href="http://www.noveltyhilljanuik.com/visit/" target="_blank">Novelty Hill / Januik</a> tasting room in <a href="http://woodinvillewinecountry.com/wine/maps/" target="_blank">Woodinville</a>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
DO IT.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love the concrete urban feel to the winery. There are not too many other wineries in Woodinville where you get to peak into the production area and barrel room from the tasting bar. There is even spaces for large group tastings (hello, Bachelorette Party anyone?!) and event space! I have yet to go to a wedding here but they were setting up for one on my last visit and it looked so cute.</div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Miguel Rodriguez Cooking Carne Asada atop grapevines for the crew at Weinbau</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There is room for large groups perched above the fermentation room where you can sip and see the tanks the grapes were fermented in. Or if the sun is calling your name, you can enjoy an afternoon on their patio. BTW YES, Seattle does get sunny days.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
You have to try any of the wines from Weinbau when you Visit. If you can't make it to Woodinville, do yourself a favor and buy the <a href="https://store.noveltyhilljanuik.com/januik-2013-weinbau-vineyard-syrah-p165.aspx" target="_blank">Weinbau Vineyard Syrah</a> online. You will be so happy you did. Plus with a $30 price tag this juice is a great value! Seriously go get it. The Weinbau Cabernet Franc pictured above is already sold out! The <a href="https://store.noveltyhilljanuik.com/januik-2014-bacchus-vineyard-riesling-p187.aspx" target="_blank">Bacchus White Riesling</a> is fabulous as well. Riesling is such a light, lively and bright wine and it is perfect for summer and that PNW seafood!</div>

Working in the wine industry has perks. Great wine. Delectable food pairings. Did I mention the great wine? Well, as I planned and packed for a business trip this past winter, we decided two weeks before the trip to do a spontaneous long weekend in Napa. We dont have kids. Our car is paid off. Why not. Wine-Not.<br />

<br />
We logged onto Airbnb, found what looked to be a cute little room for rent in a house. That is a story I will have to share at another time...<br />
<br />
We were walking distance from downtown Napa, hired a driver and made our tasting reservations. Napa Valley Tours is the best and ask for Tony- his tips for places to stop for lunch or wineries that were on our way that we had time to stop for that he suggested. Plus Tony let us rock out to T Swift so what is not to love? Stay posted for spotlights of wineries we visited and our recommendations! <br />

WOW. The drive up Howell Mountain leaves the Silverado Trail and begins climbing in elevation to the hidden vineyards above. With only 54 acres, Cade is perched with a beautiful vista to the south. The tour includes a stroll though their ground which includes cork trees- No, they do not make the corks on site, but it is still interesting to see the trees and imagine the process. It is also interesting that only half the Cade wines are closed with cork, the other half if all sealed under a twist top. AND you have to purchase one of each. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
From the vineyard and cork tree grove, our tour group of about 10 people wandered through the fermentation area. Built to be gravity fed, the area where the magic (wine) is made is dug into the hill. Like you are standing INSIDE Howell Mountain. Nothing better than naturally keeping the cellar at optimum temperature! And that barrel room!</div>
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SFGmnMyevNc/VyvG9QP-skI/AAAAAAAACn4/IVcnWZwO3a8sRHJMYrjhDy3TeUfIVnO9gCLcB/s1600/2016-01-30%2B13.26.21-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SFGmnMyevNc/VyvG9QP-skI/AAAAAAAACn4/IVcnWZwO3a8sRHJMYrjhDy3TeUfIVnO9gCLcB/s320/2016-01-30%2B13.26.21-1.jpg" width="320" /></a>Drool. Perfectly stacked barrels with their perfect wine stain down the center. Did you know? The Cade team actually removes their wine stain touch before selling their used barrels. From the barrel room we went to a long table and tasted through their offerings. Each wine is paired with a little bit. I was impressed the Cade team were able to change out the regular menu of small bites for a vegetarian version for me. Many thanks! The crackers were handmade by a team member and the fig jam was great with their Cabernets!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Not only did we love the Cade wines but we also took home some Adaptation, the Plumpjack groups second label. I highly suggest their Petite Syrah. Such a great everyday wine ( and much softer on the wallet). I would suggest Cade to anyone hoping to get away from the crowds and take in great service with a breathtaking view. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy a glass of wine at the fireplaces tucked into their grounds. </div>

The answer is to slow down. Get your ass in a comfortable deck chair and pop the Rosé. Nothing says relaxation like rosé. Plus you have to follow yesterday's tequila binge with something lady like- right?<br />
<br />
Have friends coming over? Rosé pairs with anything. Fish? Rosé. Steaks on the Barbie? Rosé. Fruit and cheese platter? Rosé. Rosé all day.<br />
<br />
I am a <a href="http://twomountainwinery.com/" target="_blank">Two Mountain Winery </a>fanatic and suggest y'all get your hands in their 2015 rosé when it is released Memorial Day Weekend! Chad and I made a trip to Zillah to taste and visit the winery last weekend. It is so welcoming and I was able to snag one of their last bottles of the '14 rosé! This rosé is dry but has a lovely strawberry character. The wine has a dancing acidity and leaves you refreshed. All for only $16. What a steal.<br />

<p dir="ltr">The Local has been open for some time now but I finally found this gem and feel the need to shout it from the mountains. Tucked in off of Gage Rd in Richland, the Local is awesome! With simplistic decor and clean lines galore, this coffee shop is cozy without feeling rushed. A few tables, some couches and outdoor seating make this place feel like home.  </p>
<p dir="ltr">With a simple menu and delicious paninis this is the perfect place to dish about your week with a girlfriend,  work on the computer with the free wifi, or spend some quite time with yourself and a cup of Joe.  </p>
<p dir="ltr">Only downside, it is in a strip mall. I guess that means good parking but what is with the Tri Cities and strip malls? I will never get it.</p>

Easter Sunday marked our one year anniversary. We dove into the top of our wedding cake that has been living in our freezer for a whole year. It was just a little freezer burned but we got to enjoy it in the sunshine. And the center of the chocolate cheesecake was pretty darn tasty, even if it has been a year. <br />

We spent the year <a href="http://fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2013/10/weekend-happenings.html" target="_blank">Wine tasting</a> with friend, <a href="http://fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2013/11/go-fight-win-go-cougs.html%20Done" target="_blank">Cheering </a>on our Cougs, and even made the trek to <a href="http://fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2014/01/abq-in-weekend.html%20Done" target="_blank">ABQ </a>for a great southwestern style football weekend, <a href="http://fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2014/01/abq-pep-rally-and-game-time.html%20Done" target="_blank">Pep </a>rally included... even if our beloved Cougs lost...<br />
<br />
We got to see the <a href="http://fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2013/12/seahawks-sunday.html%20Done" target="_blank">SUPER BOWL CHAMPS</a> play at the Clink<br />
<br />

<br />
It is safe to say we are both looking forward to what year number 2 has in store! And the 60 more after that!<br />

Not having kids (yet), we removed the kiddo play kingdom from the backyard, leaving enough wood for raised beds, our compost area and we are hoping to create shelving within our shed! </div>

Up-cycling at its finest!</div>

We were able to make the bed for around $36.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We cut the boards to create 8'x4' beds and made sure to leave enough room for a stool, bucket or even better, a wheelbarrow between beds (and fences)!</div>

Each hoop is 12', to anchor the hoop, cut the large diameter 2' pipe in half and attach with the U fitting.</div>

It was a little bit of work but seeing these greens thrive is pretty awesome! And I must give thanks to my hubby for manning the saw and drill!<br />

</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With our starts going crazy, our to-do lists are shouting "spring!"</div>
</div>

Mmmmm, onions!</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A few weekends ago, the hubs and I set some goals and were able to transform one area of our garden:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Courier New, Courier, monospace;">the lettuce bed.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I always wanted my lettuce bed to be in a sitting garden area, a spot to catch some shade in the hot summer months. A spot to munch on the spoils of the garden as we Barbueque. And darn it, I had to have a spot with stepping stones and walkable mosses and plants! What an awesome way to use the brick we have lying around! And of course what is a lettuce bed without a bed. You know, for the lettuce. And the hubs built quite the bed! 8'x4' this bad boy is sturdy, with PVC pipe hoops to boot! With some plastic sheets added on top, we were able to build a nice little raise bed for under $50 including the soil! </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Our future salads and green smoothies are looking GOOD!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These bad boys got transplanted into it last weekend! With a lot of love and a little bit of Miracle Grow hopefully they will be dinner soon! </div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Photos to follow soon, are you doing any garden transformations? Have any advice on growing spinach, kale, or lettuce? I would love to hear from you,</div>

I turned around a corner and there it was. An image which took me directly to Robert Frost's lovely Poem, The Road Not Taken.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I was moved to stop and soak in the meaning of that poem which I memorized and fell in love with in 4th grade poetry class. Life takes many turns and I believe we all have the power to choose our path, not by a road map but by an accumulation of many small decisions over time. It is easy to compare oneself to others, wanting for more, wishing to be a little different.</div>

Comparison really is the theft of joy. </div>

February was an interesting month to say the least. <br />
6 inches of snow.<br />

Our grapes were able to slide by unscathed.<br />

What is your sign that Spring is on its way? <br />

We have talked about it.<br />
We have budgeted for it<br />
This is the year we will have a kick ass garden. Step One: From seeds to seedlings.<br />
<br />
The<a href="http://fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2014/01/garden-debate-seeds-or-seedlings.html" target="_blank"> Seedling vs starts </a> debate has been settled and here I present you with grow station. Here is what you will need for your own starts station:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tIQDmGQ3dDc/UwJmeXqcZHI/AAAAAAAABfo/iPS1QtbCfkQ/s1600/Starts.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tIQDmGQ3dDc/UwJmeXqcZHI/AAAAAAAABfo/iPS1QtbCfkQ/s1600/Starts.png" /></a></div>
<br />
Total Cost: $125<br />
<br />
We were able to find the lights and bulbs at our local Habitat for Humanity store here in Richland. I recommend one cool and one warm spectrum bulb per light. I do not spend the money on the garden grow lights as these have seen me through thus far.<br />
<br />
Why start our own? I love to see the first germination, the first leaf unfold and see as our jungle of a garden grows and grows. I love to pick exactly which variety I want to grow and have lots of options. I love tending to an indoor garden when the February cold hits. And finally, we are looking forward to staggering our plant dates a few weeks to hopefully encourage a long and plentiful harvest. <br />
<br />
I cant wait to see the first little guy push through the soil!<br />
<br />

The rest of the country has been buried snow for the past forever (seriously... we get it midwesterners, -40 degrees sucks) but we here in Washington have just now decided to jump on the winter train! And it is beautiful! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mJQ1mjNQtiY/Uvv_C3FKZVI/AAAAAAAABdU/1DKGrtAsHpQ/s1600/2014-02-10+12.04.42.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mJQ1mjNQtiY/Uvv_C3FKZVI/AAAAAAAABdU/1DKGrtAsHpQ/s1600/2014-02-10+12.04.42.jpg" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Snow fall in the vineyard made everything feel quiet and peaceful.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RWMPYmbu_B8/Uvv-xIQBcMI/AAAAAAAABdM/BvG1v_1flFU/s1600/2014-02-10+12.35.21.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RWMPYmbu_B8/Uvv-xIQBcMI/AAAAAAAABdM/BvG1v_1flFU/s1600/2014-02-10+12.35.21.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Pruning is in full swing. Each bud will produce 1-3 clusters per vine. Each one of those bad boys is important for the perfect end product, that delicious glass of wine.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BiHcYTpUrCs/Uvv_EGvMu2I/AAAAAAAABdc/Vfm3FCUsDWw/s1600/2014-02-10+12.34.01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BiHcYTpUrCs/Uvv_EGvMu2I/AAAAAAAABdc/Vfm3FCUsDWw/s1600/2014-02-10+12.34.01.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
The haircut looks good on 'em!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qG9wttLYN1U/Uvv_F-r2r8I/AAAAAAAABdk/ouwvp3qDMz4/s1600/2014-02-11+10.43.47.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qG9wttLYN1U/Uvv_F-r2r8I/AAAAAAAABdk/ouwvp3qDMz4/s1600/2014-02-11+10.43.47.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
And the snow shows all the footprint from deer and coyotes. Cheers from wine country!<br />

Ever have that dream of getting home from work and going to the garden (with a cold beer) to harvest what you will cook for dinner?<br />
<br />
I have that dream. <br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kz-VzRIG688/UvFDtVXoQXI/AAAAAAAABYQ/qKmbNa3zNKY/s1600/GardenGoodies.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Kz-VzRIG688/UvFDtVXoQXI/AAAAAAAABYQ/qKmbNa3zNKY/s1600/GardenGoodies.PNG" height="301" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Gasparotti's Garden Haul</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We are friends with an awesome couple in Walla Walla whom have inspired us. Almost all of what they eat comes from their garden. They can, They pickle, They are basically AWESOME. So awesome, in fact, that after opening their home to us, guiding us around that awesome town, cooking dinner from their garden and hanging out in the rain under cover, we got to wake up the next day, join them in the garden and pick enough veggies to fill two grocery bags home. Like I said, AWESOME!!!</div>
<br />
And this year, we are attempting to get on their level. <br />
<br />
With hopes of more time outdoors, less time in front of the tube and a healthier "dirt to table" relationship with our food, the hubs and I are diving in! The to-do list is long but the reward will be great!<br />
<br />
<a href="http://www.fromwinecountrywithlove.blogspot.com/2013/11/2013-garden-in-review.html" target="_blank">2013 </a>was a good start but there is lots of work to be done and am looking forward to see our garden grow in 2014!<br />

The Husband and I went bowling to end 2013.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D7MF81K5QVQ/UtgezJMA30I/AAAAAAAABS4/u_8RnNzeVbI/s1600/ABQ+(1).png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-D7MF81K5QVQ/UtgezJMA30I/AAAAAAAABS4/u_8RnNzeVbI/s1600/ABQ+(1).png" height="320" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Go Cougs!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As alumni of Washington State University, season ticket holders, CAF members, we knew it was our duty to root our Cougs on in Albuquerque as they took on the Colorado State Rams. Seriously it took me like a week to figure out how to spell that so from here out, I will refer to the ABQ!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JrcS0NmH2ik/UtglaVqI95I/AAAAAAAABTU/yeA0DMGyPaE/s1600/A1day.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JrcS0NmH2ik/UtglaVqI95I/AAAAAAAABTU/yeA0DMGyPaE/s1600/A1day.png" height="200" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Have an A1 day!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
What does one do in ABQ, I asked myself before we planned our big journey south. We had to do the Breaking Bad tour, stoping at the building used for A1 Car wash as well as creepily driving by The White's home for the show. The home is actually someones home, those poor people!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BEIr8kuYrDk/UtggeQFmH4I/AAAAAAAABTE/WJQGd_4z-LQ/s1600/ABQDrinks.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BEIr8kuYrDk/UtggeQFmH4I/AAAAAAAABTE/WJQGd_4z-LQ/s1600/ABQDrinks.png" height="131" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Bloody Mary at Scalo, Marble Brewing Company</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Our time in ABQ was also spent wetting our whistle, south west style with some delicious Southwest style chili Bloody Mary's followed by seeking out a local microbrewery. The Marble Brewery did not disappoint. With a nice outdoor sitting area complete with picnic tables and bowls for your pooch to cool off and sip from and an open, wood lined interior, we had an enjoyable backdrop for some afternoon vacation beers. It is always 5 o'clock somewhere, right? We enjoyed a limited release Pumpkin Cask Dark Ale (pictured above) as well as their IPA and sips of some creamy Oatmeal Stout.<br />
